

Merja Pöyhönen
is regarded as a pioneer of puppet theatre in Finland and mostly known as a director. After having completed her puppetry degree at Turku Arts Academy in 2005 Pöyhönen studied physical theater at École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in Paris. In theatre she is interested in puppets, motions and emotions. Pöyhönen has directed and performed in many of the well-known Finnish puppet performances and during the last years she has also worked as a director abroad.
is a remarkably versatile and skillful performer. After graduating from Puppet Theatre Department in Turku Arts Academy she has been working in professional productions using physical theater, clownery, mask theatre and puppetry as means of expression. Tikkanen studied physical theater at the Institut del Teatre, Barcelona in 2010. During the last five years she has performed in more than 30 performances.
